New Drug vs Cisplatin for Fluid Around the Lungs

Malignant Pleural Effusions (Mpe)

Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with advanced solid cancer (confirmed by biopsy or cell sample)
  • You have moderate to large fluid buildup around one lung that needs treatment
  • You are healthy enough for treatment (ECOG score 0–2, meaning you can do most daily activities)
  • Your organs (liver, kidneys, heart) are working well enough
  • You are expected to live at least 3 more months
  • If you can have children, you must use birth control during and for 6 months after the study
