Who can take part
- Age 18–70 years and generally healthy (ECOG score 0–1, meaning you can do most daily activities)

- Tumor located within 10 cm of the anus, confirmed by colonoscopy or digital rectal exam

- Never had surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, or other cancer treatment for this cancer (except a temporary stoma if needed)
