This study uses routine blood tests to find people with advanced liver scarring caused by a condition called MASLD. If you are between 50 and 75, have certain metabolic risks, and get blood work from your primary care doctor at select centers, you may be eligible.

Who can take part

  • You are between 50 and 75 years old.
  • Your blood test was ordered by your primary care doctor at one of 11 participating SERMAS centers in Madrid.
  • You have at least one of these: high ALT and high blood sugar, high ALT and a BMI over 30, or a BMI over 30 and high blood sugar.
  • You do not already have known serious liver disease (like cirrhosis or liver cancer) or have had a liver scarring test in the past year.
