Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You are in good health or have only mild health problems (ASA physical status I or II).
  • You are scheduled for ear, nose, or throat surgery under general anesthesia.
  • You do not have any serious heart, lung, kidney, or liver disease.
  • You are not allergic to remifentanil or nicardipine.
  • You are not taking long-term blood pressure medications like beta-blockers or calcium channel blockers.
