Shockwave therapy for chronic Bell's palsy

Who can take part

  • You have Bell's palsy on only one side of your face, not caused by a stroke or other nerve problem.
  • Your symptoms have lasted at least 3 months (chronic stage).
  • You are between 45 and 55 years old.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18.5 and 29.9.
  • If you have diabetes, it must be well controlled and you must be otherwise healthy.
  • You have not had a stroke or other serious medical or psychiatric condition.

Mirror and imagination exercises for Bell's palsy recovery

This study tests whether practicing facial movements in your imagination (motor imagery) combined with mirror exercises can help reduce unwanted facial movements (synkinesis) and improve facial symmetry and quality of life in people with new Bell's palsy.
