  • Your A1c level is between 6 and 6.4% (a sign of pre-diabetes)
  • You are scheduled for surgery that is not on your heart, brain, stomach bypass, or pancreas
  • You are over 18 years old
  • You are not pregnant
  • You do not have a formal diabetes diagnosis
  • You do not take any medications that affect blood sugar
