Monitoring bacteria in newborn breathing tubes

Who can take part

  • Your baby must be a newborn of any age starting from 22 weeks of pregnancy onward.
  • Your baby is expected to need a breathing tube for more than 12 hours.
  • You must give permission for your baby to join the study (verbal or written).
  • The medical team believes your baby has a realistic chance of recovery.
  • Your baby cannot take part if they are not receiving active lifesaving care or are at the end of life.
  • The study cannot include your baby if you are not able to give permission.
