Who can take part

  • Your child was admitted to the PICU (pediatric intensive care unit) and started an invasive breathing machine within the last 24 hours
  • Your child is expected to have or has had more than 5 days of invasive breathing-machine support
  • You agree in writing to let your child take part in this study
  • Your child is not enrolled in another clinical study at the same time
  • Your child has a respiratory tract infection that is being managed in the PICU
