- You are between 18 and 80 years old.
- You are in generally good health (classified as ASA I–III by your anesthesiologist).
- You are scheduled for a first-time hip replacement on one side only.
- The surgery will be done with spinal anesthesia (numbing from the waist down).
- You are able to rate your pain on a scale from 0 to 10.
- You do not have conditions like bleeding problems, infections at the injection site, or severe kidney/liver disease.
