Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 50 years old.
  • You have had shoulder pain in one shoulder (the dominant side) for more than 3 months, specifically from the supraspinatus tendon.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18.5 and 24.9.
  • You have tenderness over the top of your shoulder and pain when lifting your arm out to the side or when a doctor tests the 'empty can' position.
  • You have not had shoulder surgery or a traumatic injury to that shoulder.
  • You do not have a frozen shoulder, rotator cuff tear, arthritis in the shoulder joints, a pacemaker, or are pregnant.
