Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 60 years old.
- You have an acute ischemic stroke (a clot in a brain blood vessel) and need urgent treatment to remove it.
- Your symptoms started or you were last seen well within the last 24 hours.
- You have had a CT scan of your head and neck blood vessels to confirm the clot and that it can be treated with a catheter procedure.
- You do not have a severe allergy to CT contrast dye or serious kidney problems (including dialysis, transplant, or taking metformin for diabetes).
- If you are a woman of childbearing age, you are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
