Who can take part

  • Your child is between 6 and 24 months old
  • Your child has at least one baby tooth that has come in
  • That tooth is either healthy or has a small white spot (early sign of a cavity)
  • Your child has not had fluoride varnish before
  • Your child does not have an allergy to iodine or a thyroid problem
  • Your child is not on long-term antibiotics
  • Your child has no visible cavities or soft tissue problems in the mouth
  • Your family plans to stay in the same city for the next 2 years
