Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You must have a confirmed diagnosis of antibody-positive autoimmune encephalitis or autoimmune cerebellitis.
  • Your condition must be 'refractory,' meaning you've tried at least one round of first-line treatments (like steroids, IVIG, or plasma exchange) more than 6 weeks ago, and you've had additional immunotherapy (like rituximab or other drugs) for at least 2 months without improvement in your symptoms.
  • Your disability level must be severe, with a modified Rankin Scale score greater than 3 (unable to walk or care for yourself) for at least 24 hours at the start of the study.
  • You must not have other serious health issues like active infections, certain heart problems, low blood cell counts, or a history of cancer (except for specific, treated skin or ovarian tumors).
