Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You were diagnosed with type 2 diabetes within the last 3 years and have not taken any diabetes medications for at least 3 months.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 28 and 40 kg/m².
  • Your weight has stayed about the same (no more than a 5% change) in the last 3 months.
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant in the next year, and you are willing to use effective birth control.
