  • You have a body mass index (BMI) between 30 and 35.
  • Your waist measurement is more than half your height.
  • You have at least one health problem related to your weight, like high blood pressure or high cholesterol.
  • You have tried to lose weight before with diet and exercise.
  • You do not have any type of diabetes.
  • Your weight has not changed by more than 11 pounds in the last 3 months.
