Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- Your hip or knee joint infection is caused by only one type of bacteria (Staph aureus or Pseudomonas)
- You are having a surgery called DAIR (where the joint is cleaned and the implant is kept)
- You are otherwise healthy and able to walk on your own
- You are not taking medications that weaken your immune system, and you do not have an active viral infection or uncontrolled HIV
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
