This trial studies a new treatment using viruses (phages) that target specific bacteria. If you have a hip or knee joint infection caused by a single type of bacteria (Staph aureus or Pseudomonas) and are having a surgery to clean the joint, this trial may be an option for you.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • Your hip or knee joint infection is caused by only one type of bacteria (Staph aureus or Pseudomonas)
  • You are having a surgery called DAIR (where the joint is cleaned and the implant is kept)
  • You are otherwise healthy and able to walk on your own
  • You are not taking medications that weaken your immune system, and you do not have an active viral infection or uncontrolled HIV
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding

A trial of PLG0206 to prevent knee joint infection after surgery
