NCT06438900Recruiting
Studying AGEs and muscle loss in obesity and diabetes

This study is looking at how certain sugar-related proteins (called AGEs) might be linked to muscle loss in people with obesity and type 2 diabetes. It aims to understand why muscle wasting happens in this condition.

NCT07692308Recruiting
Muscle health study for sarcopenia prevention and treatment

This study looks at muscle changes in people with or at risk for sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss). It aims to find better ways to detect and manage sarcopenia using simple tests like muscle strength and body composition measurements.

NCT05888688Recruiting
Studying muscle loss in people with heart failure or diabetes

This study looks at sarcopenia, which is age-related loss of muscle, in people with certain types of heart failure or in people with stable type 2 diabetes but no symptoms. The goal is to better understand muscle changes and what might help people stay stronger.

NCT06736249Recruiting
Testing a new treatment for muscle loss in sarcopenia

This trial tests a new approach to treat sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss) by targeting a protein called HIF-1α. It compares older adults with sarcopenia to younger adults without it, all of whom are having hip or knee surgery.

NCT06320158Recruiting
Understanding muscle loss and obesity in older adults

This study looks at the link between muscle loss (sarcopenia) and obesity in older adults. It aims to understand why some older people who are overweight or obese also lose muscle strength and function, and how this affects recovery after hip surgery.

Muscle Loss, Metabolism, and Aging Study (SMILE)

This study looks at how muscle loss (sarcopenia) and metabolic problems (like diabetes or obesity) relate to aging over time. It aims to find better ways to track and treat these age-related changes.
