Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with alopecia areata (patchy or extensive hair loss) for less than 10 years.
  • Your hair loss is at least 20% of your scalp (measured by a SALT score).
  • You have no chronic gut problems like inflammatory bowel disease or celiac disease.
  • You have not taken antibiotics, probiotics, or prebiotics in the last 2 months.
  • You have not had a fecal microbiota transplant (FMT) before.
