Who can take part

  • You are a woman who cannot become pregnant (for example, you have had your tubes tied, a hysterectomy, or are postmenopausal).
  • Your body-mass index (BMI) is between 27 and 39.9 (calculated from your height and weight).
  • Weigh at least 132 pounds (60 kg).
  • Generally healthy aside from being overweight or obese (no major uncontrolled medical conditions).
  • Not using certain medications that interfere with the study drug (like weight-loss shots or St. John's Wort).
