Who can take part

  • You are currently inactive (exercise less than 30 minutes per week).
  • Your weight has been stable (changed less than 6.6 pounds in the last 6 months).
  • You do not have uncontrolled high blood pressure, heart disease, or a history of stroke.
  • You are not taking insulin or other diabetes medications that affect blood sugar or exercise response.
  • Your BMI is below 40 (not severely obese) and you do not smoke or have respiratory problems.
  • Your fasting blood sugar is not higher than 100 mg/dL.
