Who can take part

  • You are of Han Chinese ethnicity.
  • You have prediabetes (high blood sugar levels that are not yet diabetes) and are not taking any diabetes medicines.
  • You have not been in a weight-loss study or changed your weight by more than 10% in the past year.
  • You do not have serious health problems (like heart, liver, kidney disease, or conditions that make exercise hard) or uncontrolled high blood pressure.
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or have had COVID-19 recently (within 4 weeks).
