Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You are having one of these surgeries: hernia repair (groin or belly button), removal of a soft-tissue tumor, thyroid gland removal, appendix removal, or varicocele/hydrocele repair.
- You are able to understand the study and agree to take part (a witness or fingerprint signature may be allowed).
- You are available for a hospital interview after surgery, a follow-up at your clinic visit, and phone or home follow-up for 30 days after surgery.
