Who can take part
- You have a confirmed or suspected infection
- Sepsis has caused organ injury, or you have septic shock needing blood pressure support for 6 to 24 hours
- Your heart is in a normal rhythm but beating at 95 beats per minute or faster
- You are not taking other drugs that slow the heart, do not have a pacemaker, and are not pregnant or breastfeeding
- You can take oral medication (by mouth or feeding tube)
