High-flow oxygen vs face mask for brain oxygen during sedation

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are scheduled for an elective diagnostic or interventional procedure with sedation in a non-operating-room setting
  • You have an ASA physical status of I to IV (generally healthy to severe systemic disease)
  • You can provide written informed consent and are willing to participate
  • You do not have serious health issues like advanced heart failure, uncontrolled diabetes, severe anemia, or a history of stroke or brain injury
  • You do not have nasal blockage or skin problems that would prevent using a high-flow nasal oxygen device or brain oxygen sensors
