Who can take part

  • Age 18 or older
  • Scheduled for an elective cystoscopy (bladder viewing procedure) under sedation in an operating room
  • Generally good health with no more than moderate medical problems (ASA Class I–III)
  • No history of stroke, severe heart failure, or advanced lung disease
  • No recent head trauma or brain surgery
  • No nasal deformity or blockage that would interfere with oxygen delivery
