Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You had open-heart surgery that used a heart-lung machine
- You do not have a congenital heart defect (a heart problem you were born with)
- Your surgery did not involve cooling your body to very low temperatures
- Your kidney function before surgery was reasonably good (eGFR above 30)
- You did not already have acute kidney injury when you arrived in the ICU
