Kidney injury costs after heart surgery in the UK

Who can take part

  • You had planned or urgent heart surgery at Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust between 2013 and 2025 (except during 2020-2021).
  • A heart-lung machine (cardiopulmonary bypass) was used during your surgery.
  • Your surgery was not an emergency.
  • You did not need dialysis before surgery.
  • Your kidney function (eGFR) before surgery was 20 or higher.
  • You have not opted out of research use of your data.
