Who can take part

  • You are between 40 and 65 years old.
  • You have had a stroke within the last few weeks to months (subacute stage).
  • You can sit without using your arms for at least 30 seconds.
  • Your arm and leg muscles are not too tight (spasticity level below 2 on the Ashworth scale).
  • You have no severe heart problems, memory loss, or other conditions that would prevent participation.

It looks at perceptual motor training (which helps with planning and coordinating movements) versus repetitive facilitation exercises (which use repeated, guided movements to retrain the muscles).
