Who can take part

  • You are between 16 and 40 years old and in good general health.
  • You have a permanent tooth with one root canal that is fully developed and needs retreatment.
  • You may or may not have an infection at the tip of the root (seen on x-ray).
  • You have not taken antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, or antidepressants in the past three weeks.
  • You are not pregnant or planning to become pregnant during treatment.
  • You have good gum health (no heavy plaque, bleeding, or deep gum pockets).
