Personalized spinal stimulation for arm function after spinal injury

This study tests a personalized electrical stimulation treatment placed near the spine to see if it can improve arm and hand function after a spinal cord injury. If you have a stable injury above the mid-back and have not had new nerve problems in the last 6 months, you may be able to join.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 70 years old.
  • Your spinal cord injury happened between 1 and 10 years ago.
  • The injury is at or above the T4 level (roughly at your nipple line).
  • You have gotten spinal cord decompression surgery, and your spine is stable.
  • You are not on a breathing machine, and your vital signs are stable.
  • You have not had any new or worsening nerve problems in the last 6 months.
  • You are willing to take part in rehabilitation therapy.
  • You have already had surgery to implant a spinal cord electrical stimulator or are doing regular rehab.
