This study tests a new way to remove large or complex colon and rectal polyps using a special port system called GelPOINT Path. If you have polyps that are hard to remove with standard colonoscopy, this approach may help your doctor remove them safely.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You are willing and able to sign a consent form.
  • Your colon or rectal polyp is in the transverse colon, descending colon, rectosigmoid colon, or rectum (rectal polyps must be at least 2 cm from the anal opening).
  • Your polyp is being considered for a procedure called endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) and meets one of these: it has been previously treated or has scar tissue (in the colon above the sigmoid), it is a flat growth larger than 30 mm (granular) or larger than 20 mm (non-granular), or it may have grown into deeper layers.
  • You are not pregnant.
