Gel for gum treatment after deep cleaning

This trial tests if a special gel placed in the gums after deep cleaning helps treat periodontitis (advanced gum disease). You may qualify if you have gum pockets of 5mm or deeper that bleed when probed.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have at least 20 natural teeth (not counting wisdom teeth).
  • You have been diagnosed with stage II, III, or IV periodontitis.
  • You have at least 4 deep pockets (5mm or more) that bleed on probing in at least 2 areas on opposite sides of your mouth.
  • You have not had gum surgery or taken antibiotics for gum disease in the last 6 months.
  • You do not smoke more than 10 cigarettes a day.
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant.
  • You do not have uncontrolled diabetes (HbA1c 7.0% or higher) or rheumatoid arthritis.
  • You have no known allergies to hyaluronic acid or the gel ingredients.
