Who can take part
- Are between 18 and 85 years old
- Have had low back pain for at least 3 months, with a typical severity of at least 4 out of 10
- Have a body mass index (BMI) between 30 and 49 (body mass index is a measure of weight relative to height)
- Are not pregnant or breastfeeding and, if of childbearing age, agree to use effective birth control
- Do not have diabetes requiring medication (except metformin) or an HbA1c above 7
- Do not have conditions like recent heart attack, stroke, severe heart failure, pancreatitis, kidney disease, or active cancer
