  • You have a history of chewing betel nut.
  • You have oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma that is locally advanced (stage III or IV).
  • You have not received any prior treatment for this cancer.
  • Your cancer is measurable (can be assessed on scans).
  • You are generally able to carry out daily activities (ECOG 0-3).
  • You do not have distant metastasis (cancer that has spread to distant sites).
