Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have type 2 diabetes that was recently diagnosed and you haven't taken diabetes medication yet, OR you have been treated for type 2 diabetes for at least 6 months.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is either greater than 30 (obese) or less than 25 (not obese).
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You do not have an active infection, inflammatory disease, or rheumatologic condition.
