Who can take part
- You are at least 18 years old
- You have a type of lung cancer called non-small cell lung cancer that is either stage IV or advanced (stage IIIB or IIIC) that cannot be removed with surgery or treated with radiation and chemotherapy
- You have not had any prior treatment for your advanced cancer (for one part of the study) or you have had specific prior treatments like targeted therapy or chemotherapy plus immunotherapy (for another part)
- Your heart function is normal as checked by an ultrasound or a special scan
- You are able to do daily activities normally or with only minor restrictions (ECOG 0 or 1)
- You do not have a history of lung inflammation or have uncontrolled infections like HIV, hepatitis B, or hepatitis C
