Acute intermittent hypoxia for spinal cord injury

Who can take part

  • You must have had a spinal cord injury for more than 6 months.
  • Your injury must be 'motor incomplete' (some movement below the injury level), classified as AIS C or D.
  • You need at least some voluntary ability to push your foot down (ankle plantarflexion) in one leg.
  • You cannot have uncontrolled high blood pressure (outside 140/90 and 90/60).
  • You cannot be taking medications for muscle spasms, and you must not have sleep apnea, brain injury, or other major medical issues.
