Who can take part

  • You have heart failure with an ejection fraction of 49% or less (this means your heart's pumping ability is reduced).
  • You are able to lie still in the position needed for an ultrasound.
  • You do not have an irregular heartbeat like atrial fibrillation or frequent extra beats that would make the ultrasound difficult.
  • You are able to understand and sign a consent form.
