Who can take part

  • You are a veteran who can get care through the VA.
  • Your spinal cord injury is at or above the lower back (L1) and you have some movement below the injury (incomplete injury).
  • You have had the injury for more than 2 years.
  • A blood test shows your testosterone is low.
  • You have at least one symptom of low testosterone, like low energy, less interest in sex, or tiredness.
  • You have trouble walking, for example, your walking speed is slow or you need a walker or braces, but you can still walk.
  • You are otherwise medically stable and have a doctor's approval to join the study.
