Who can take part

  • Age 50 or older
  • Diagnosis of wet age-related macular degeneration (abnormal blood vessels under the retina)
  • The active abnormal blood vessel is not directly in the very center of the macula (the part of the eye responsible for sharp vision)
  • No major heart attack, stroke, or heart-related hospitalization in the past 4 months
  • Less than 50% of the area within 300 micrometers of the fovea is affected by the active lesion
  • No other serious eye conditions (like advanced cataracts or diabetic eye disease) that could affect vision outcomes
