Chronic Ulcers: Non-healing Deep Cavity Wounds (e.g., Diabetic Foot Ulcers, Arterial Ulcers, Post-surgical Wound Healing Disorders)

Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You have diabetes with deep wounds on your lower leg or foot, or you have poor blood flow causing leg ulcers, or you have surgical wounds that aren't healing.
  • Your wound has been healing slowly and you are already getting routine treatments like special wound cleaning or suction therapy.
  • You need to have at least 2 ml (about half a teaspoon) of fluid from your wound available for testing at each visit.
  • You cannot have active infections like HIV, hepatitis C, or HPV, and you cannot be pregnant.
  • You must be willing and able to give written consent to participate.
