Who can take part

  • Be between 50 and 89 years old.
  • Have a diagnosis of polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR).
  • Taking at least 10 mg of prednisone (or an equivalent steroid) at the time you join.
  • Have normal levels of inflammation markers (CRP and ESR) in your blood.
  • Not have other conditions like giant cell arteritis, lupus, certain types of arthritis, scleroderma, Sjogren's syndrome, active cancer, an active infection, or have had surgery in the past 6 months.
