Who can take part

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must have a confirmed blood clot in your leg, either in the large pelvic/femoral veins or behind the knee, and it must be either acute (recent) or subacute (a bit older but not chronic).
  • Your doctor must expect that you will live at least one more year.
  • You cannot have had a previous procedure to remove this same clot or have a stent or filter in the vein that might interfere.
  • You must not have had significant bleeding or a stroke in the past month.
  • You must be able to safely undergo the clot removal procedure, without severe organ problems, allergies, or pregnancy.
