Who can take part

  • Your child must be under 18 years old.
  • Your child must have been diagnosed with a serious lung condition called ARDS.
  • You, as a legal guardian, must agree to let your child participate.
  • Your child must not have a tracheostomy (a breathing tube in the neck), certain nerve or muscle diseases, or certain heart problems that were present from birth.
  • Your child must not have certain conditions that would make the monitoring tools unsafe, like problems with the esophagus or having a pacemaker.
