Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have non-small cell lung cancer that is locally advanced (stage III) or has spread (stage IV) and cannot be removed with surgery or treated with radiation.
- You have not had any previous treatment for advanced lung cancer.
- A test shows your cancer has a change in the ALK gene.
- You have at least one tumor that can be measured on a scan, and it has not been previously treated with radiation.
- You are physically able to take care of yourself (ECOG score 0 or 1).
- Your major organs and bone marrow are working well enough, and you have not had a blood transfusion or growth factor injections in the last 2 weeks.
