Who can take part

  • You are between 30 and 65 years old.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is 45 or less.
  • You are scheduled for a first knee replacement surgery.
  • You can understand and communicate in English.
  • You have no severe health problems like diabetes, kidney disease, or heart failure.
  • You are willing to stop using pain supplements and certain pain medications before the trial.
