Who can take part
- You are age 18 or older.
- You have heartburn on at least 4 days each week, and have had heartburn for at least 6 months.
- An endoscopy has shown no damage to your esophagus (no erosive esophagitis or Barrett's esophagus).
- You are willing to stop taking other heartburn medications (like Prilosec, Nexium, or Pepcid) during the study.
- You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant during the study.
