Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have a chronic subdural hematoma (a slow, long-standing blood collection on the brain) and are scheduled for a middle meningeal artery embolization (a procedure to block blood flow to reduce the collection).
  • You can give your own consent or have someone legally authorized to consent for you.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You have no severe allergy to the materials used in the embolization (like particles, Onyx, n-BCA, or coils).
  • You are able to have an angiogram (a special X-ray that looks at blood vessels) and can return for follow-up visits at 30 and 90 days.
