Who can take part

  • You must be 18 to 80 years old
  • You must be having a specific type of heart attack (STEMI) and arriving at the hospital within 12 hours of symptoms starting
  • You must be scheduled for emergency angioplasty (PPCI)
  • You cannot have had prior heart surgery or stents
  • You cannot be allergic to the MRI contrast dye (gadopentetate dimeglumine)
  • You cannot be pregnant or planning pregnancy in the next 6 months
