  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You recently had a kidney transplant (within the last 5 days).
  • Your doctors plan to treat you with anti-infection medicines (like antibiotics) for at least 5 days.
  • You still have a urinary catheter in place for at least 2 days after surgery to collect urine samples.
  • Your new kidney is expected to work soon without needing dialysis right after surgery.
